Begins to grow dark after Nora is flirtatious to Dr Rank in Act 2
When Rank proffesses his feelings, a lamp is brought in and Nora says ‘arent you ashamed of yourself, now that the lamp has come in’
The Door adh
Entrances and exits are dramatic, family threatened by outside forces.
Biggest threat is Krogstad entering ‘unnoticed’, boundary has been crossed
Final plays gesture is ‘noise of the door slamming’, becoming a family outsider by being on the other side of the door
Nora becomes wildly radical, door slam has symbolic weight. Stands as a cultural shift to a new era of individuality.

Tarantella is a ’hot’ italian dance that contrasts scandinavian calm nature
Tarantula poison causes ’tarantism’ - death dance.
Noras death dance. Inappropriate behaviour, stopping Krogstad from opening letter that causes ’social death’
