16
Q

What are the local effects of GDV

A

Venous outflow obstruction and increased transmural pressure leads to vascular congestion. this eventually leads to gastric necrosis +/- gastric perforation

Gastric rotation -> tearing of short gastric arteries -> hemoabdomen

17
Q

What are systemic effects of GDV

A

GI necrosis, DIC, Myocaridal ischemia, metabolic acidosis

18
Q

What are some major considerations for a GDV

A

Cardiovascular crisis

- endotoxin, vasoactive agents (with reprofusion)
