Q

Inter personal skills ( Result-oriented/ Problem solving

& with different people)

A

I worked as an Assistant Brand Manager for VIETNAM DAIRY PRODUCTS JOINT STOCK COMPANY (VINAMILK) for 3 years. This job required a comprehensive project management skill to always keep track of several marketing campaigns at the same time and ensure they are launched effectively as scheduled. I had to work with both internal departments within the company, including Sales, Finance, Logistics, R&D, Consumer Research,… and external parties, such as Creative Agencies, Designers, Outlet Representatives, … This job has strengthened my communication skill and a result-oriented attitude, which help me to convey my messages easily within a team and negotiate effectively with people in order to solve a problem efficiently and get things done quickly.

Q

work independently with minimal supervision as well as co-operatively in a team environment.

A

I was assigned to lead the launch project of a completely new product, Vinamilk 100% Organic under the supervision of Brand Manager, from developing a powerful product concept through consumer trend analysis and in-depth consumer researches to working with R&D team to develop a complete product, to briefing and discussing closely with creative agency to establish related advertising materials (packaging, TVI, key visual). In order to launch the product on time, I actively updated my Brand Manager of the key milestones in the project timelines, always be well prepared for all the information and needed discussion before the weekly meetings and tried to think of my own solutions for a problem before asking for manager’s opinion. That is also how I can be a co-operative member of a team because I believe that a member can only assist others once he completely fulfilled his own role & responsibilities.

Q

Writen & verbal communication

A

My job also required me to actively monitored business sales performance by conducting daily, monthly & quarterly sales reports, reconciling with Nielsen’s retail audit data, competitors’ activities reports and feedbacks from on-going market visits to determine business issues and propose appropriate below the line activities for each sales regions, including modifying trade schemes, accelerating promotion campaigns, conducting sampling. Therefore, I have developed my data-analysis and presentation skill, both written and verbal to report the key issues and my suggested solutions to higher levels. In addition, my written and communication skills were also demonstrated when I developed product concepts and wrote PR articles, enhance TVC storyboard for new products, managed corporate Fanpage and website.

Q

Judgement & problem- solving

A

Making sound judgment & solving problems are daily tasks of a marketer. Every day, I had to give comments on the communication materials from creative agencies: artwork designs, TVC, creative ideas, PR articles,… and I have learned how to give feedback effectively so that people can receive them easily and find ways to fix it.

To be good at problem-solving, I always try to collect as much related information as possible and look at the big picture to make a reasonable decision. I believe that only once I spot the key problem that I can suggest a solution to target it. For example, to know exactly what was the critical reason for a drop in sales in a specific region, I first analyzed the sales data report to get more insights, then I contacted salesmen from those regions for more information and I sometimes went on market-visit to experience the market issues. By doing so, I can avoid making irrelevant decisions because of not realizing the real problem and its causes.

Q

Computer software including database, word processing, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail packages.

A

I am at a high-level of Microsoft Excel, Word & Powerpoint skill because they are crucial to me when I did the sales report, communication briefing, and presentation. I am also capable of designing research materials, including building questionnaires, establishing virtual spreadsheets and manage responded data. I can also use the basic functions of audio & video editing software to assist my presentation on new ideas. In addition, I was in charge of the social activities of Vinamilk brand, including building contents on Website & Fanpage so I am well aware of the many innovation formats of contents on Facebook & how to build engaging contents on social platforms

Q

Sustainability Interest

A

As I stated above, I strongly believe that the most critical purpose of a sustainable program is its effect in long-term. Definitely, it is hard to change a person’s perception and habits. Therefore, a sustainable program needs a break-through and creative approach to engage people in a natural and voluntary way. As a creative-thinking person and a result-oriented member, I really want to contribute my abilities towards those meaningful projects.

I used to ask myself: “Will the world be a greener and better place if only me trying to recycle things and reduce energy consumption while billions of people out there are consuming plastic stuff?”. That thought used to stop me from living an environmental-friendly lifestyle. And I believe many people are still thinking in this way or thinking of environmental issues not as individual responsibilities. I have changed my attitude towards the planet-saving responsibility and I really want to help change others’.
