What do you think survival is ?
Survival is about staying alive in a hostile environment or when the risk of death is increased.
Survival is the result of adaptation to the natural constraints that are imposed on you.
Every human being has an innate desire to survive.

What are risk and competency ?
Risk: Evaluate the importance of a physical or moral value
Competency: Evaluate a person’s ability to respond to a request adequately.

What does the acronym “STOP” stand for ?
Stop : our body is designed to digest, work and think. we can do only two things efficiently at the same time.
Think: evaluate the surrounding conditions (danger, current weather,terrain, resources, energy).
Observe: look around and think about a solution for the situation.
Plan: establish an action plan to implement the defined solution and make each action profitable.

What do we need to know to build a shelter ?
During the day
Near natural resources (water, wood, …)
Land with a slight slope.
Sheltered from the wind
The entrance to your shelter should face the sun.
What are the effects dehydration ? What is the life expectancy without water ? What can we do to limit water loss ?
1-5%→ thirst; lethargy; nausea; loss of apetite
6-10% → headaches; blueish skin; difficulty speaking; blurred vision
11-12% → delirium; spasms; loss of vision; wrinkling of the skin, death

How can we collect water ? How can we purify it ?
Rainwater, Dew , Vegetation water
Boiling (10min) , filtering or using purification tablet.
What are the plants that are edible ? What should you do when gathering ?
Pines (nuts, needle) , Clovers, Ferns, Cattails, Dandelion
Young plants are preferable.
Avoid crushing the pickings, Taste small portion
