SURVIVAL ANALYSIS Flashcards

Q
What is censored data
A
In survival analysis, censoring is when there is incomplete information about the survival time of some subjects in a study.
Censoring majorly happens when the event doesn’t occur during the time which the subject is followed.
This can happen for a number of reasons, including:
A subject drops out of the study for reasons unrelated to survival
A subject is lost to follow-up
A subject experiences a different event that prevents further follow-up
The study ends before the event of interest is observed for some subjects
