- stopping abruptly and looking back
- casually looking around
- suddenly reversing course
- stopping abruptly after turning a corner
- watching reflections in shop windows
- entering a building and leaving the building by another exit
- walking slowly and rapidly at alternate intervals
- dropping a piece of paper to see if anyone retrieves it
