A

Full recovery is more likely if antiviral treatment is started within 72 hours of the onset of symptoms.
First-line treatment includes aciclovir 800 mg orally five times daily for 7 days + Prednisone 60 mg orally daily for 5 days.

What is TURP?

A

TURP syndrome is a life-threatening complication of transurethral resection of the prostate surgery.

It is caused by irrigation with large volumes of glycine, which is hypo-osmolar and is systemically absorbed when prostatic venous sinuses are opened up during prostate resection.
