Surface anatomy ( all aspects ) of maxillary lateral incisor Flashcards
1
Q
Labial surface
A
Is more convex then central
2
Q
Labial developmental grooves
A
Are less prominente then central
3
Q
Crown surface anatomy
A
The crown is 2mm narrower then that of the central incisor
4
Q
Root surface anatomy of maxillary lateral incisor
A
- tapers towards the pointed apex
- its apical end is curved distally
- the root is narrow mesiodistally then central incisor
- the root is longer / same length then the central
- the root is about one and half times the length of the crown
5
Q
Lingual surface anatomy of maxillary lateral incisor
A
- marginal ridges are prominent
- the cingulum and incisal ridge are well developed
- the lingual fossa is more concave
- the palatal pit is enclosed by the cingulum
6
Q
Mesial surface anatomy of maxillary lateral incisor
A
Similar to central incisor except
- labiolingual measurements of the crown is smaller
- its incisal portion is somewhat thicker
- the curvator of the cervical line is well marked
- the root apears longer but narrower then the central
7
Q
Distal surface anatomy of maxillary lateral incisor
A
- this is thicker then mesially
- the curvator of the cervical line is less in depth
- the distal surface of the root is slightly more convex then mesial surface
