Roe v. Wade was a landmark 1973 Supreme Court case that established a constitutional right to abortion
Plessy v Ferguson
Plessy v. Ferguson was a landmark 1896 Supreme Court case that upheld the constitutionality of racial segregation laws, establishing the “separate but equal” doctrine. The case involved Homer Plessy, a man who was 7/8 Caucasian and 1/8 Black, who was arrested for refusing to leave a passenger car designated for whites on a Louisiana railroad.
Defense of Marriage Act
The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was a federal law that defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman, and prohibited the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages
