A

Superior suprarenal arteries branch from inferior phrenic artery
Middle suprarenal arteries branch from abdominal aorta
Inferior suprarenal arteries branch from renal artery
Right suprarenal vein drains into IVC
Left suprarenal vein drains into left renal vein

What is the structure of the suprarenal glands?

A

Each adrenal gland consists of cortex and medulla. The cortex and medulla are structurally, developmentally, and functionally different. Cortex secretes cortisol and aldosterone. Medulla secretes catecholamines and androgens.

A

Located superior to kidneys at T11-T12 level. Enclosed by renal fascia, perirenal fat separates them from the kidneys

What is the innervation and lymph drainage for the suprarenal glands?

A

Lymph drains into upper lumbar or paraaortic nodes
Innervation is mainly preganglionic sympathetic fibers to the medulla via celiac and other plexuses, thoracic splanchnic nerves
