What is a supplement
A food, food component, nutrient, or non-food compound that is
purposefully ingested in addition to the habitually consumed diet with
the aim of achieving a specific health and/or performance benefit.

What is food first
consuming whole foods rather than just the supplments of foods to get all the nutrients

If dont get enough of it in diet
dont eat a food that has an important nutrient in it
don’t have certain foods available eg travelling
Have high requirements
