A

What types of upper floor are available?

A

 In-situ reinforced concrete – can be ribbed or waffled to reduce depth and weight (effectively a honey comb effect)
 Pre-cast concrete – for example, pot and beam composite floor.
 Profiled steel deck (Metsec) acting as permanent soffit and formwork. In-situ concrete in-fill. Principally used on steel framed buildings.

What is slip forming?

A

A method for constructing a repetitive structure such as a core, lift shaft or stairwell.
The formwork is constantly moving upwards, approx. 1” every 10mins.

A
