Superpowers and their problems
- China : weakened superpower due to lack of cultural and political influence
- EU : 27 member states don’t always act coherently + UK left thus weakening it as its 6th largest economy w/ permanent seat on UN security council and has nuclear power
- USA : if GDP measured on PPP bases , China’s PPP (28t) > USA (21t)in 2019

- powerful economy = wealth to build + maintain other Pillars of Power
- High GDP = influence of global trade as high levels of trade
- Home to several TNCs

- permanent seat on UN security council
- many multilateral agreements

- threat of military = powerful bargaining tool
- could command global military control
- unparalleled intelligence network
- Chinas army (2.3m) > USA army (1.5m) BUT USA military tech > china+russia tech as 12% annual military budget spent on research
