Macbeth ( act 2 scene 1 ) - floating dagger but a figment of his imagination showing his fear about what is to happen

Macbeth - sees banquos ghost and shows how he feels guilt about killing him
“ That look not like th’inhabitants o’ th’ earth and yet are on’t “
Banquo ( act 1 scene 3 ) - describing the witches and says they don’t look like real humans yet they are on earth and are living
“ double double toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble “
Witches ( act 4 scene 1 ) - cauldron has connotations of witches and people in the Jacobean era believed in the supernatural
“ for none of women born shall harm Macbeth “
Witches ( act 4 scene 1 ) - everyone is born by a woman so basically Macbeth can’t be harmed
“ Eye of newt, toe of frog “
Witches - graphic imagery, audience thinks there disgusting and vile
“ Then live Macduff, what need i fear of thee? “
Macbeth - this is a paradox + he thinks that Macduff was born by a women so he shouldn’t be afraid of him and he trusts the supernatural
Fair is foul and foul is fair
Nothing will be seen as it is in the play
