Where does the trapezius insert?
It inserts on the acromion, lateral third of the clavicle, and scapular spine
What is the origin of the trapezius?
It originates in the EOP, nuchal ligament, C7-T12 spinal processes, and medial third of superior nuchal line
What is the innervation of the trapezius?
Spinal accessory nerve (C XI) with sensory nerves from C3 and C4
What is action of trapezius?
Upper( superior, descending)- elevates scapula
Middle- retracts scapula
Lower(inferior, ascending)- depresses scapula
What is origin of latissimus dorsi?
It originates on spinous processes of inferior sic thoracic vertebrae, thoracolumbar fascia, inferior 3 or 4 ribs, and iliac crest
Where does latissimus dorsi insert?
It inserts on inter tubercular groove of the humerus
What is the innervation of latissimus dorsi?
Thoracodorsal nerve C6, C7, C8; main segmental innervation C6 and C7
What is action of latissimus dorsi?
Extends, addicts, and medially rotates shoulder joint; raises body during climbing
