I: posterior border of lateral 1/3 of clavicle, acromion process, and spine of scapulae
A: elevation from upper fibers, retraction from middle fibers, and depression from lower fibers
N: spinal root of accessory n. CN XI
Latissimus Dorsi
O: spinous process of T7-L5, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, inferior 3 to 4 ribs and inferior angle of scapula
I: medial lip of intertubercular groove of humerus (anterior to trees minor)
A: extends, adducts, and medially rotates the humerus, elevates the body when climbing
N: thoracodorsal n.
Levator Scapulae
O:posterior tubercle of transverse process of C1-C4
I: superior part of the medial border of the scapula
A: elevates scapula, rotates head to same side
N: dorsal scapular n. (C4-C5)
Rhomboid Major
O: spinous process T2-T5
I: medial border of scapula from the level of the spine to the inferior angle
A: retraction and downward rotation of scapula
N: dorsal scapular n. (C4-C5)
Rhomboid Minor
O: spinous process C7and T1 and ligamentum nuchae
I: medial border of scapula from level of spine to inferior angle
A: retraction and downward rotation of scapula
N: dorsal scapular n. (C4-C5)
