Start treatment before 16 days, treat bitch at same time
Fenbendazole (3 wks prepartum, 2 days post partum)

Resistant!, sticky, temp determinate

very similar to T. catis egg

liver -> lungs -> coughed to lungs
T. canis transplacental reactivation
L3 reactivation in 3 weeks -> prepartum -> fetal lung -> L3 to SI via trachea
T. canis transmammary
L3 in milk for ~5 weeks -> right to SI
T. canis clinical signs (migratory)
coughing, increase RR, pneumonia in heavy infections
T. canis clinical signs (enteral)
pot belly pup, ill-thrift
T. canis in man causes
visceral larval migrans, occular larva migrans
T. canis diagnosis in humans
Ab detection against larval ES antigens
T. catis egg and adult
very similar to T. canis (pitted shell, round)
direct route to SI
adult = arrowhead appearance
T. leonine egg and adult
smooth shell, L3 egg, & adult = pointed head
