Diarrhoea (E.coli, salmonella, canpylobacter, viral)
Resp tract infection (viral eg legionella)
UTI
Skin/soft tissue infection (insect bites)
Hep A
Malaria, typhoid
GI protozoa
Schistosomiasis, trypanosomiasis
Viral haemorrhaging fevers (Ebola, Lassa, Marburgh, CCHF)
High consequence resp infection
What should be asked in the vaccine history?

Special med procedures- blood transfusion, IV cannula, prosthetics, IUCD, body piercing
What signs can you look for?
RESPONSE TO INFECTION
Systemic- fever, viral signs, CRP/white cells, rashes
Local- inflam, destruction, abscess
What test can you send?
Sterile site- blood, CSF, urine, bone/joint
Non sterile site- skin, gut, resp tract
Detect specific immune response
-antibody/cell mediated
