G for Sumerian City-States?
Located in Mesopotamia, between the rivers. They were able to grow many crops. However, city-states would also fight over water rights and usage.
R for Sumerian City-States?
There was a ziggurat in the center of the temple and the Sumerians believed that the gods used the ziggurat was used as a ladder for the gods to use to ascend down to Earth. The Sumerians believed in polytheism.

P for Sumerian City-States?
The Sumerians weren’t exactly under one political leader since each city-state had its own leader. They couldn’t come to agreements together, which caused the city-states to be constantly at war over resources such as materials and water rights.
E for Sumerian City-States?
Because of the food surplus, while some farmed, others could work–and that’s where job specialization began. People could pursue other things. In this case, it was mostly building cities. The cities grew fast; there were temples, shops, houses, and the royal palace. They also went to other places in caravans/ships to trade resources.
S for Sumerian City-States?
The Sumerians didn’t exactly have one ruler. Each city-state had it’s own ruler, so technically it was a monarchy in each city-state since there was one ruler for each city-state.
