Purpose of suicide prevention
Minimise harm and prevent loss of life by the identification and safe management of offenders who are at risk of self harm or suicide
Cut down procedure
2 officers required
One holds body up other cuts the rope
Rope to be cut on side opposite to knot
Prisoners head to be supported during cut down
Put into recovery position and CPR started
