All religions society’s became amalgamated to become the national society for women’s suffrage (NSWS).
However it did not last as the early suffrage movement characterised by disagreements over ways of achieving their objectives
What caused the split in the suffragists in 1871
The argument of whether they should joinn forces with the LNA. This caused the party to split into London national society for women’s suffrage and central committee of the national society for women’s suffrage
What happened to the two separate parties in 1877
They later joined forces in 1877 to NSWS with lydia Becker as the secretary
What was the division on 1888 over?
Over the political strategy of the suffragists
The younger and more radical suffragists wanted to affiliate to the women’s liberal federation which was a part of the liberal party as the liberals were more sympathetic to women
The olders such as milicent fawcett wanted the organisation to be kept separate from all political parties as they wanted to gain support from all political persuasions and not just the liberal

The suffrage movement divided into two parties (CNS)- radical left wing extreme And the (NSWS) which was leaded by Millicent Fawcett and lydia Becker
