treatment of torsades de pointes
magnesium sulphate
CPTV features
exaggerated response to adrenaline
increased HR in stress/exercise. can trigger VT
treatmnet of CPTV
BB, implantable cardioverter defibrilator
Long QT syndrome mutations

can cause fainting, fits
long QT syndrome treatmnet
avoid strenuous exercise
BB, implantable defib if high risk
Brugada syndrome mutation
SCN5A mutation - sodium channelopathy

RBBB (broad QRS complex) and ST elevation in v1-v3 followed by an inverted T wave
fam history of sudden cardiac death <45
Wolff-parkinson white features
short PR, delta wave
palpitation and ECG findings= syndrome
tachycardia
hypertrophic cardiomyopathy features
LV hypertrophy on echo, sudden death, HF, AF
avoid sudden exertion
treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
implantable defib, BB
dilated cardiomyopathy
risk of death lower. LV enlarged and weakened so cant pump as well.
ass. with alcoholism

LDLR, APO5, PCSK9
cholesterol level
treatment of family hypercholesterolemia
atorvostatin - SE=muscle pain
