Immunology Flashcards
MOA of adrenaline
a1 and B2 adrenoceptor agonists
a1 - reverses peripheral vasodilation and oedema
b2 - dilates airways, increased force of myocardium contraction, decrease histamine, lwukotrienes from mast cell
MOA of antihistamine and when are they not effective
competitive antagonism of histamine receptors - esp H1
not effective in bronchial asthma as leukotrienes and bradykinin also have a role
end in -ine eg loratidine, promethazine
example of mast cell stabiliser and MOA
sodium cromoglycate
prevents mast cell release of histamine
example of leukotrine receptor antagonist
montelukast
what are monoclonal AB specific for
block AB specific for either teh Fc region of IgE AB or IGE binding site on FCER1 eg omalizumab
in penicillin allergy what AB can you give
gent, azith, metronidazole, ciprofloxacin
what is polyarteritis nordosa driven by
Hep B viral surface antigens
what is henoch schonlein purpura driven by
IgA
c-ANCA vasculitis
GPA
p-ANCA
MPA and EGPA
goodpastures specific AB
anti-golmerular basement membrane AB
