Why did Cisneros invite Ferdinand back to Castile after Philip’s death? Provide some examples
- he was concerned about unrest in Castile as there were some nobles trying to increase their own powers eg. the Duke of Medina Sidonia trying to recover Gibraltar and the Count of Lemos who overran Ponferrada
How did Ferdinand deal with the troublesome nobles in 1507 and how successful was he?
- he raised an army and most submitted easily, struggled slightly in Andalucia where two nobles (one is Count of Cabra) fought on before submitting
- worked closely with Cisneros to govern the country
