Success phase Flashcards
1
Q
What are the 2 main types of intervention evaluation?
A
- Effect evaluation
- Process evaluation?
2
Q
What is being evaluated in effect evaluation?
A
The extent to which variables that are directly related to the problem have changed over time?
3
Q
What is included in the effect evaluation?
A
- The outcome variable
- Other/more variables within the process model
4
Q
What are the 4 possible scenarios of effect evaluation?
A
- Intervention affects causal variables and outcome variable –> big success
- Intervention affects causal variables but not outcome variables –> some choices in P, A, T of the model were not optimal. Potential wrong outcome variable or unable to find most important causes
- intervention affects outcome variable but has no impact one causal variables –> doubts about process model and balance table. If used again, leave out specific parts that did not work
- No change in outcome or causal model –> many things might have gone rong. Process model, balance table, implementation
5
Q
What is included in the effect ladder? (4)
A
- Strength of evidence for intervention
- Description of strenght level
- type of research needed to revel the strength
- qualification level of the intervention
6
Q
What is being evaluated in a process evaluation? (5)
A
- Completeness of the implementation (is info about intervention complete and addresses in all cases)
- exposure to the intervention (are materials being used, is target group actively engaged)
- satisfaction with the intervention (is target group positive about use of intervention)
- Recruitment (procedures used to attract members of the target group to use the intervention)
- Context (environmental factors that may have influenced the implementation oft he intervention)
