- each card has expiration date with a unique number assigned by the MTA NYC Transit

**lost , stolen, damaged , OFFICER on duty will ..notify PTSU RESOURCE CENTER **…also POLICE REPORT, LOST PROPERY (include transit ID number on metro card), forward lOST property and police report to RESOURCE center…..a replacement card shall not be issued until all reports have been forwarded

PRIMARY MEANS of communication –TRAIN OPERATORS RADIO (bluff: conductor)
FD/ Train radio—TA command center—FD Dispatch–CIC
-TA will really messages from FD UNIT on LIGHT TRAIN to FD dispatcher for relay to CIC and vice versa
- TA will allow FD unit direct use of TRAIN OPERATORS RADIO (essential that FD unit maintain control of this radio, only reliable means of communication )
- TA operator radio is removable (WILL OPERATE FROM ANY TRAIN OPERATOR’S COMPARTMENT IN ANY CAR)
note: train conductor is equipped with hand held radio with capabilities SIMILAR TO TRAIN OPERATORS RADIO
FD units should not enter track area from LIGHT train, unless power is removed

if necessary to disembark the LIGHT TRAIN, an HT equipped member shall be assigned to REMIAN with TRAIN OPERATOR to maintain communications
- *PROGRESS reports every 15 MINUTES
- light train shall not travel past next station with permission of CHIEF IN CHARGE
- APPARTuS of the unit who boarded the train should remain at its original location until, and if, directed to another location by CIC
- CIC may board train IF NECESSARY
- CIC may request LIGHT TRAIN via dispatcher , in situations where none has been approved
Subway Ventilation Fans..

- Each plant has one and four fans…most have single fan…plants serving under river tubes may have up to 4 fans
- Fans located at BOTH ENDS of all under river tubes (exception Lenox-White plains tube)
-EACH FAN PLANT has 4 digit ID number –ID NUMBER and LOCATIONS have been entered into CIDS
- MOST transit system vent fans operate in EXHAUST MODE…small number operate in supply mode
- vent fans in uNDER RIVER TUBES ARE REVERSIBLE.. …OLDER TYPE FANS, direction of air flow can be changed by MOVING DAMPERS
**fans NOT AFFECTED by power removal **
TA will operate fans prior to FD arrival, if in their judgement such activation will provide relief to exposed train passengers

–if fans have been activated , TA will notify the IC, VIA FDNY DISPATCH, of location of fans and MODE (supply/exhaust)
–upon arrival of FDNY IC, he will take control of FANS
ALL FDNY request to the TA for fan activation or shutdown must be directed through the IC to the FDNY dispatcher
Evacuation of passengers from under river tubes should take place AWAY from any fan operated in the exhaust mode.
IN SMOKE CONDITION, the TRACK bed may be more comfortable for the passengers than the bench wall(AKA CATWALK ) since track bed may be below smoke level ..however both trackbed and bench wall are acceptable avenue of evacuation
