A

-wait until train comes into station and notify train operator that you are walking out on bench wall to extinguish fire (this will assure no trains are moving on that particular track) under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will members be allowed on tracks until the power is off

EXCEPTION: civilian on tracks and we must keep them from 3rd rail or we are going to the blue light to remove power due to life hazard.(not TA workers , they are trained to be on live tracks)

  • even with power off, there are elements within the undercarriage electrical system that possess enough voltage to cause a shock…contact with any undercarriage electrical components must be avoided

-if a member encounters an OOS power removal box, use telephone to contact RAIL CONTROL CENTER (RCC) to request power removal, identify himself, state the reason for removal (REMAIN ON PHONE, UNTIL RECEIVING CONFIRMATION)–in any case , MUST confirm through FD dispatcher
