Q

Themes and representation

A

oliver is introduced looking moody, reinforcing the stereotype that teenagers are lonely and depressed

Oliver carries a briefcase and reads the dictionary, contradicting the stereotype that teenagers use slang

Jordana’s bright red coat suggests boldness and violence, contradicting the stereotype that girls are polite and meek

However her mother being ill and the death of her dog makes Jordana a damsel in distress or ‘princess’ - link to propps character types
