Q

What are complications of a proximal/ pushed radial head subluxation/dislocation?

A

May also cause a fracture of the distal radius and ulna aka a colles fracture

Q

What is the purpose of the interosseous membrane?

A
  • Keeps the radius and ulna together
  • Serves as a muscle attachment for forearm and wrist muscles

Q

What are complications of humeroulnar subluxations/ dislocations?

A
  • 3 major nerves around the elbow: median, radial, ulnar
  • Brachial artery (emergency referral)
  • Fractures
  • Frequent loss of terminal extension
