SubLux VSC Flashcards
Sudoriferous Changes VSC for-
Neuropathology
Light pressure almost as though you are
“tickling” the skin.
Sudoriferous Changes
Oily, slick, moist, clammy, or tacky (acute VSC) Dry, rough, flaky, or scaly Blemished (chronic VSC) Indications of what in VSC???
Neuropathology
Start with “eyeball” pressure. Use pressure
on your hand as a guide.
Turgidity
Turgidity is what part of VSC?
Histopathology
Fluid filled, inflamed, boggy,
spongy, or puffy.
Saggy, deflated, or flaccid.
Turgidity (SP) /Histopathology (VSC)
Broad fingerpads contact. “Fingerprinting”.
Tone in surface/superficial musculature.
Push past any turgidity in the previous step.
Surface Tonicity
Surface Tonicity is what portion of VSC?
Myopathology
Tight, contracted, spasm, rigid,
firm, or stiff are indications of what?
Myopathology (VSC)/ Surface Tonicity (SP)
Bony prominency. Feel for a bony
structure to be out of place. Spinous
processes or lamina/tvp/mammilairies.
Tissue Prominency
Tissue Prominency is apart of which VSC portion?
Kinesiopathology
Prominent, protruding,
pronounced, or “sticking out”
Tissue Prominency ( SP) / Kinesiopathology (VSC)
Press on the bony structure(s) in question
while evaluating for a subluxation. Elicit a
pain response. (Sclerotogenous)
Palpatory Tenderness
Palpatory Tenderness is which portion of VSC?
Neuropathology
Response with pain, discomfort,
tenderness, grimace, wince, or
apprehension
Palpatory Tenderness (SP)/ Neuropathology (VSC)
