Independent Subjunctive use

  • Subjunctive use #1
  • All you need is a Present subjunctive verb
  • To negate this verb use nē
  • Subjunctive is the main verb
  • Usually translated using “let/may”
  • Does not use the 1st person s. and most often used in the 3rd person

1. Verb of fearing
  -timeō, -ēre, -uī, ---
  -metuō, -ēre, -uī, -ūtum
  -vereor, verērī, verītus sum
  -habēre metum = to have fear
2. Nē = that, ut = that... not
