A word that has a closely similar meaning to another word. Example- bad, awful, terrible
What are antonyms?
A word with a directly opposite meaning to another word. Example- good, bad
What is a semantic field?
A collection of words connected by a theme. Example- doctor, nurse, surgery etc could be the semantic field of medicine
What is a connotation?
The idea associated with a particular word. Example- a gun can connote violence, death etc
What is symbolism?
The use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities.
Example- a dove can be a symbol of peace
