LEVELS OF LISTENING:

A

LEVEL 1: Listener creates a safe environment.
LEVEL 2: Listener clears away any distractions such as laptops and phones and makes appropriate eye-contact.
LEVEL 3: Listener seeks to understand the substance of what the other person is saying
LEVEL 4: Listener observes nonverbal cues, such as facial expressions and respiration
LEVEL 5: Listener increasingly understands the other persons emotions and feelings about the topic at hand
LEVEL 6: Listener asks questions to clarify assumptions.
