WHAT IS COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE?
cooperative governance is a government philosophy that involves all levels of government working together for the common good of the country.
ACCORDING TO SECTION 41(1) CHAPTER 3 OF THE CONSTITUTION:
according to section 41(1) chapter 3 of the constitution, all government spheres and all organs of state within each sphere must:
-preserve the peace, national unity and the indivisibility of the Republic.
-secure the wellbeing of the people of the Republic.
-provide an effective, transparent, accountable and coherent government for the Republic as a whole
-be loyal to the Constitution, the Republic and its people.
SECTION 41(1)(h):
section 41(1)(h) further provides that governments must cooperate with one another with mutual trust and good faith by:
-fostering friendly relations
-assisting and supporting one another
-informing one another of, and consulting one another on, matters of common interest
-adhering to agreed procedures.
