Study Tips Flashcards
Watch your holding stacks, but in order to get them down they will have a deal with the lower traffic. Have the guy on top go from 1 to 2 or last depending on the traffic below him.
!
Watch for a CPR departure climbing to 090 landing GCC with a GCC departure climbing out of GCC direct CPR 090 have the GCC departure cross CHANG at or above 100
!
Always watch an appreq from ZCU on a wrong way @ 120 will almost always give you a deal…remember the missed approach procedure for RWLs is 11700 at CKW, so if you approve a wrong way at 100 on v6 and have a RWL guy on Apch it is a deal.
!
Watch out for CPR dept push with ascending speeds. Slow guys in front want lower altitudes than faster guys behind. Fan out the front guys to the left get the faster guys behind vertical above the front slow guys then put them back on course.
!
Watch holding stacks over RWL GPS 22 and VOR 22 need point out to ZCU 5 for MIssed aproach
!
Always watch out for anybody below 140!!!
!!!
Watch LAR dept @ 130 with the routing LAR..CKW.V4.FBR
!
Watch GCC with lots of arrivals. One on approach one holding at 90 4 or more coming in BUT the next guy based on estimated arrival time is at 150 and the next guy is below him at 130 then the last guy at at 100. Best approach to the issue is to not descend the first guy through the all the other altitudes and put the guy at 100 first and put the others in the pattern
!
Watch for aircraft in IR499-473 at the JF point the airspace goes from S -80 to S- 130. There could be a ZCU aircraft being handed to you at 120. Call ZCU 16 and request him at 140 or get control and climb him
!
If R7001 is hot EAN and GUR are unable to shoot the approach. Due to overlapping airspace. Instruct D side to call GUR tower and get it cleared
!
Always buy back altitude!!! When giving an approach clearance always have the aircraft report leaving XX alt. When the report, either have them contact GCC tower or Report cancelation
!
Airfile Procedure
When they call make sure they are in your airspace! Then give them a code, and altimeter. If you are not going to be able to give them a clearance tell them to expect clearance in 10 mins.
Remember the only aircraft on the ground with a priority is a LN
!
GNSS Equipment Qualifiers
/G / L
No transponder /V
No Mode C /S
Transitions on the approach, when you give the approach clearance not on an IAF “via the xxxx transition”
!
2 military aircraft come on in MARSA refueling usually a F16 and Tanker. The tanker will always call up and request a “military breakup”
Tanker ID requests ALT and direct Airport will also req ALT and direct airport for F16
“Tanker ID UPON breakup maintain XX alt and cleared direct airport” F16 ID UPON breakup maintain XX alt cleared direct airport squawk XXXX and come up on this frequency”
When he comes up. Radar ID him say altitude. Tanker ID MARSA terminated w/ F16
!
Visual Seperation DONT USE above FL180
(Issue Traffic) “Do you have it in sight”
Affirmative
“AID Roger maintain visual seperation”
If the aircraft are converging advise the other aircraft of the traffic, give traffic call and “Traffic has you in sight and will maintain visual seperation”
Don’t EVER move or give a clearance to an aircraft under the MIA!!!!
!
Express speed adjustments in terms of IAS for everything below FL 240 for everything above use Mach numbers
!
Military formation flights
Standard
6 miles
Military Formation Flights
Non Standard
Add 1 mile to furthest aircraft
3 miles in trail non standard would be 8 miles
If you have an overdue aircraft the wait time for another approach is 30 minutes after the arrival time. You can only clear an aircraft for approach with his concurrence
!
Watch out for all aircraft coming over from ZCU 5 make sure they are on V4 at. 130 and 140 if direct
!
If you are having a primary aircraft turn for identification have them
Resume own navigation
What equipment suffixes should you watch out for
/T / U /X / D / S /V /A
Have all your aircraft coming over to GCC non radar at 090 at 110 for radar coverage
