Study Models Flashcards
What do we evaluate sagitally? (2)
- Molar and canine class
- Overjet
What do we evaluate vertically? (2)
- over bite
- deep bite / open bite
What do we evaluate transversely? (2)
- crossbite/scissor bite
- Midline
Incomplete class II?
Mesial aspects of both 6’s in the same vertical plane
Parabolic vs oval arch?
Parabolic: molars diverge
Oval: molars converge
BASAL BONE OR APICAL BASE sizes? (4)
- Wide
- narrow
WIDE BASAL BONE OR APICAL BASE ? (2)
- Good = Correct transverse relationship
- dental problem NOT osseous
NARROW BASAL BONE OR APICAL BASE? (2)
- bad = Small size transverse relationship
- Osseous problem NOT dentoalveolar
Is expansion possible in the mandible?
no
Bogue index? Values? (4)
- Primary/mixed dentition
- distance b/w distopalatal side of 2nd primary molars
- <30 compression
- > 30 expansion
Mayoral index? Values? (6)
- Perm dentition
- measure distance between mesial fossae
- 1st premolar = 35mm
- 2nd premolar = 41mm
- 3rd premolar = 47mm
Compression = lower values Expansion = bigger
Izard index? (3)
- relation b/w bicigomatic and molar widths
- measured with special compass
- Measured from vestibular side (mesiobuccal cusps) of upper first molars
Izard index compression?
BIMOLAR WIDTH < 1/2 (BICIGOMATIC WIDTH– 10)
Izard index of expansion?
BIMOLAR WIDTH > ½(BICIGOMATIC WIDTH – 10)
Pont index?
- measure between 1st premoalars and molars
- Take mesiodistal diameter of the 4 incisors * 100. Divide it by the premolars / molars distance
