Muhhamads childhood and early life
Muhammad was born in Makkah around 570 A.D. he was raised by his uncle and worked on camel caravans

He married a rich widow named Khadija and had 6 children two sons who both died in childhood and four daughters
He was highly respected and known as the Al-Amin.

What happened on the night of power and excellence
In 610 AD, On the night of power and excellence Muhammad received a revelation from allah
the archangel Gabriel appeared and told Muhammad that he will be the prophet of Allah

In 613 AD he received another revelation after which he began publicly preaching in Makkah. He said that people should: abandon polytheism believe in Allah Treat one another fairly care for the sick and poor

Muhammad angered makkah business and religious leaders by demanding that all Idols should be removed from the kaaba. He said the kaaba should be used exclusively for the worship of Allah.

In 622 AD Muhammad and his followers left Makkah and moved to Madinah. This event is known as the hijra or hegira ( meaning the departure)
In time Muhammad became the ruler of Madinah and was referred to as the Rasul (messenger of Allah)

He fought several successful battles against his opponents and finally captured Makkah in 630 A D
he reformed its government and cleansed the Kaaba of idols
How did Muhammad die and when what happened after his death
By 631 AD Islam has spread across all of Arabia. Muhammad fell ill and died the following year.
within a century of his death Islam had spread as far as spain in the west and India in the east. today one-fifth of the world’s population is Muslim

To go on pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in ones lifetime
