What is the conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis?
Palestinians refused to recognize Israel as a nation. As soon as Israel was established, fighting broke out. There was constant conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis living in the Gaza Strip.
What happened to the Kurdish people as a result of partitioning?
The Kurds were not given their own homeland, which left them vulnerable to extreme persecution.
What was the conflict between the Sunni and Shia Muslims? Why did this occur?
The conflict between the Shia and the Sunni Muslims resulted after the death of Muhammad. They disagreed on who should be the next leader. As a result of the European partitioning after WWI, Sunni and Shia were forced to get along together in one country. The two religious groups have fought for power in Iraq for decades.
