- The needs of Asian students often go unrecognized and consequently unmet by the educational system. This can contribute to a higher drop out rate.
- Asian students with disabilities are less than half as likely as other groups to be identified with learning disabilities and cognitive impairments. Asians are 1/3 as likely as African Americans to e in programs for students with learning disabilities.

- Shaking hands with someone of the opposite sex may be considered unacceptable.
- using your left hand to touch someone is frowned upon
- older family member should be addressed first
- client/parents may not volunteer opinions b/c you are viewed as the expert!
- when they say yes, it may not mean they agree
- establish rapport!
