Q
  1. Client supplied window from over seas.
    Where to store?
  2. Already tendered?
  3. Like for Like?

Resi project and Client wants to put in a new windows?

would it be covered by contractors insurance?

PS1 by lamcom consented.

A
  1. Client supplier their responsibility
client takes on the risk, they would need to find storage. Has the ali joinery been communicated to the Contractor
  2. Contractor Glass procured earlier, stocking fee, ask for evidence. If the shop drawings been done and ordered. Ask for a statement from contractors supplier – subby.
  3. Just replacement, changing like for like, bettering the situation so that’s fine.

Cut a hole in the wall, what’s the R value, affect overall H1,
Triple glazing, shop drawings provided and variation to make it fit.
Best to have a conversation with Council, this is what Client wants to do , is this an onsite minor variation or amendment?

If contractor damages client supplied window, then insurance would need to pay for it.

AirNZ > Lamcom, façade consultant > Prepared PS1.
New PS1, not matching the system, would need to be an amendment

A
  • available in the country and didn’t order it, Contractor should front cost.

If specified from overseas, I notify the contractor pre-start meeting, long lead time item, order early. Pick up in tender price.
Architect best to pick things that are in stock give contractor plenty of notice if it will impact critical path.
