Why is the beach popular with visitors?
Because of the sand dune ecosystem and the wide sandy beaches
Why are tourists a danger for the sand dunes?
Because they can drop cigarette butts which cause fires and walk on the dunes which structurally damages them
What 3 ways have the sand dunes been protected?
Vulnerable, newly planted dunes are fenced off, boardwalks are placed between the dunes and fire beaters are positioned around the dunes in case of a fire
What else has the local authorities done to protect the dunes?
They have constructed car parks and facilities next to it to try and keep the visitors in one area and have information boards to educate people about the environment
Why does the beach have to be protected?
Because it is home to rare species of plants and birds.
