Small intestine
Food is partially digested by stomach and chemically altered by fluids from the liver and bile from the pancreas.
Large intestine
reabsorbs fluids and processes waste products in preparation elimination from the body.
Salivary glands
produce saliva, which helps listen food and make it easy to swallow.
Buffalo cavity
where we put food (mouth area), where food is chewed to break it down.
Epiglottis
Flap of cartilage behind the root of the tongue, which covers the opening of the windpipe when swallowing food.
Oesophagus
Muscular tube that connects oesophagus to the stomach.
Stomach
a sac with muscular walls that churn the food to break it up. It produces hydrochloric acid and enzyme to digest the food.
Rectum
last part of the colon and links it to the anus. It stores faeces until they can be expelled from the body.
Anus
opening in the body through which the farces are expelled
