Is the hairs protective layer, gives hair shine and protects the inner layers from damage.

A
Your natural hair colour is determined by the cortex. It has bonds which hold the components of your hair in place. It determined whether your hair is naturally curly,straight or wavy. Is main body of the hair gives strength + elasticity

The medulla

A
It is the central layer of the hair but is not always present
