Q

what is the
- radius, why?
- composition, what does this cause?
of the oceanic crust

A
  • radius : 6 km
it is thinner as it is compacted by the weight of the ocean
  • composition : basalt
because it is basalt which will be dissolved when entering the asthenosphere as it is pushed down by the continental crust, this causes it to regenerate and so it is only up to 200 million years old
