Dense and heavy but thinner than continental.
Made of rocks e.g. basalt that are rich in silicon and magnesium (SIMA)
Younger than continental

A
40-60km thick
Less dense, lighter rocks than oceanic
Older than oceanic crust
Made of rocks e.g. granite that are silicon and aluminium rich (SIAL)
