Flashback/ forward
Going back or forwards in time to give us a backstory to the present events taking place or to make us like or dislike a certain character more
Tenses
Future- will show thoughts or intensions by a character and can be used to create a feeling for a character
Present- this makes us feel in the moment and will usually be used in action
Past- past tense can be used to show mourning or thinking back on something with future knowledges and can be used to create a depressing effect or uplifting one
Narrator
The person who tells the story and may have an influence on how its told
The point of view
This change in perspective shows other peoples thoughts and what they are seeing this may make us like a character more by showing their side of a story
Sequence
Using sequence can let you accurately go back on the past events making the text more straightforward.
Serting
Setting is where the events take place
Structure
Structure is the organisation of the text
Narrative
A written story or account
Perspective
A particular view on something or someone
Narrative voice
The person telling the story from their point of view
Structural feature
A feature that helps organise a text
Empathize
To understand and share someone else’s feelings
Sequence
The order in which things happen
Climax
The most exiting or tense part of a story
First-person perspective
The point of view f a character involved in the action of a story, using ‘i’
