Q
Aim
A
To investigate incongruent writing and its effect on speed of processing
3
Q
Method
A
Using colour blocks and incongruent colour writing, participants had to say out loud as quickly as possible all the colours on the page. A repeated measure design was used and participants were asked to read the colour specified by true work and NOT the colour of the word
4
Q
Results
A
It was found that incongruent writing was read at a much lower speed than the control colour blocks
5
Q
Conclusion
A
Due to our knowledge of colour being automatic processes, this it referee when incongruent writing is shown and therefore decreases the speed of processing
