(!) Stroke Flashcards

1
Q

Main stroke territories

A

Cerebral strokes-contralateral
Anterior cerebral artery-arms>legs
Middle Cerebral Artery-Legs>arms, face, aphasia,
Posterior Cerebral artery-contralateral homonymous hemianopia (lose half vision in each eye) with visual agnosia

Webers syndrome–Ipsilateral CN III palsy–closed eyelid, down and out
Contralateral weakness of upper and lower extremity

Posterior Inferior cerebellar artery–vomiting and vertigo
IPSI–facial PAIN and loss of temp
CONTRA- limb pain and loss of temperature
Ataxia (like past pointing), Nystagmus

Anterior inferior cerebellar artery–Similar to PICA but with IPSI facial droop/weakness

Retinal artery-aumorausis fugax
Basilar artery-locked in syndrome
