What are the two types of ischemic stroke?
Embolic and Thrombolic
What is the goal for rehab?
Have the patient do as much for themselves as possible and return to baseline (pre-stroke)?
Which neurological diseases is Acetylcholine involved in?
A decrease in acetylcholine-secreting neurons is seen in Alzheimer’s disease; myasthenia gravis results from a reduction in acetylcholine receptors.
What role does Serotonin play?
Serotonin is involved in moods, emotions and sleep.
What role does Dopamine play?
Dopamine is involved in emotions, moods and regulating motor control. Parkinson’s disease results from destruction of Dopamine-secreting neurons.
