F.A.S.T Face - mouth drooping? Arms - can they lift both arms? Speech - slurred, can they understand you? Time - Call 000 if any of these present

What are the signs of a stroke?
A
1) Weakness, numbness of face, arms and/or legs on one or both sides of the body
2) Difficulty speaking or understanding
3) Dizziness, loss of balance or an unexplained fall
4) Loss of vision or sudden blurred or decreased vision in one or both eyes.

How should a stroke be managed?
A
1) Cease dental treatment
2) Call 000
3) Give oxygen
4) Maintain airways
5) Monitor patients vital signs until help arrives
